Property Information

The Folly is a glorious Cotswold country house with an unusual yet artistic warmth. The entire house has undergone meticulous improvements with clever space saving ideas mixed with creative touches to create a real Cotswolds gem. Internally the owner, who is a renowned UK interior designer, has mixed classic Cotswolds features with contemporary flair. It was clear to us when we visited the cottage that the owner had considered each room, one at a time, and given them all a unique personality - while carefully retaining the historic feel of local environment. The flagstone floors, beams, open fire places and Aga all add to the lovely feeling to be found within this first rate holiday cottage. Externally the house sits off a quiet village lane on the edge of the village. There are vast and completely enclosed gardens which extend to over an acre for guests to enjoy PLUS there is a private a tennis court too. Local Information

Didmarton is a small Cotswolds' village located approx 5 miles south west of Tetbury and approx 25 mins north of Bath and conveniently situated a short drive from the M4 motorway.

The village has a long history dating back to the 1500's and has many beautiful traditional houses and cottages throughout. Today it is more famous for its proximity and association with Badminton (Horse Trials), Westonbirt Arboretum and also Tetbury (and its Royal connections!). There is a good pub in the village called the Kings Arms as well as others within a reasonable walking distance for determined folk in nearby villages.

Tetbury is well regarded for its excellent antique shops and restaurants as well the infamous Woolsack Race which brings the town to a standstill once a year. Slightly further afield are Bath, Cheltenham and Oxford as well as many delightful Cotswolds villages and attractions, including Burford, Cirencester and Stow on the Wold.
