Property Information

The Old Chapel, Swinbrook is a delightful property set on the edge of one of the most sought after villages in the Cotswolds. Overlooking a field with stream and a small country lane this is a tranquil holiday cottage ideal for recharging the batteries and enjoying some beautiful Cotswolds countryside. Originally a chapel, the building has been converted to provide a spacious and thoroughly welcoming living space. There are many period touches throughout, while there are also many modern conveniences to make your stay an enjoyable one. We particularly like the open plan feeling to this cottage as it really gives the sense of space - a country squire's retreat!

Local Information

Location Information
The Old Chapel is set on the edge of the Swinbrook a very pretty and very well known Cotswolds village, which even though it has a degree of notriety has remain almost completely untouched. It sits on the River Windrush and is about a 30 minute walk from the everpopular Cotswold town of Burford. Sinbrook is perhaps best known for its association with the Mitford sisters who lived here in the 1930's and beyond. Today the village has an excellent pub called The Swan which sits on the Windrush and serves high quality food. As if to complete the classic Cotswolds village scene there is a cricket pitch too! Oxford and Cheltenham are approx 20 and 30 mins away respectively. All in all you'll be hard pressed to find a more stunning location!
