The Den, a converted barn on Shaken Oak Farm, is a wonderful holiday cottage for those who wish to get away from it all and recharge the batteries. Situated in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds in an area once part of Wychwood Forest - a Royal hunting ground - The Den is in a truly tranquil setting, amongst fields and woods, and yet close to Woodstock and the famous Blenheim Palace, and the beautiful university city of Oxford. Other notable Cotswold locations such as Burford and the picturesque villages of the Windrush and Evenlode valleys are all close by. The local pub, which is highly recommended, is just a mile away!
ACCOMMODATION: (all on one level )
French windows lead into the Sitting / Dining / Kitchen area. Useful facilities include digital TV with DVD player, CD & digital radio, dining table and chairs.
Kitchen is well equipped with electric cooker, microwave, washer/dryer, fridge with ice compartment.
Double Bedroom has a double bed, along with fitted cupboards.
Bathroom with bath, shower in the bath, WC and wash basin.
Heating & electricity included all year. Babies in arms welcome, please note that the cot is NOT supplied. BBQ available on request.
No Smokers. Small pets welcome. Any Day changeover accepted.
The enclosed garden to the south of the cottage is for guests use only and you are also welcome to explore the farm's grounds, including a circular walk through the orchard and trees. The friendly owners, who live next door in their listed farmhouse, are wonderful hosts and would be happy to supply eggs, seasonal vegetables, home-made bread and their award winning mustards and preserves. Please be sure to speak to them before you arrive if you wish to place an order!
