Peter's Nest Cottage is in a clearing below Peter's Nest Wood, known mysteriously as Hell's Throat. It is the original cottage of the Woodwells farmstead (marked on an 1847 map) and is a location particularly popular as a meeting place for sociable pheasants! A truly peaceful location for those who like to get away from it all. The cottage is located on the famous Owlpen estate, which has long been recognised as one of England's most romantic early manor houses.
ACCOMMODATION:
The accommodation is presented in a simple and friendly style that would make the cottage perfect for getting away from the city. Downstairs, the property is entered through the welcoming Kitchen, which leads down into the Living Room - a room that has wonderful views across the woods and into the Owlpen valley. As well as a comfortable Sitting Area, there is an attractive dining area. The property also benefits from a ground floor Bathroom.
Upstairs
Double Attic Bedroom, with double bed and enjoying spectacular views to the West down the Owlpen valley. There is also a small private garden.
Central heating included all year around. Ample parking.
Pets by arrangement. Monday or Friday changeover
The Tudor Manor House (1450-1616) stands in glorious gardens with magnificent yews set at the centre of a clutch of medieval and traditional buildings, many of which have been converted to quite exceptional Cotswold holiday cottages. The location and surroundings are amongst the best, not in the Cotswolds but in England - steeped in history of a thousand years and full of romance and charm. we're sure you will love it here!
Day-to-day provisions are available in Uley which is only half a mile away, where there is a Post Office/village shop, two pubs, a brewery and an arts centre in Dursley.
