Lower Moor Lodge, Hay on Wye is a super cosy cottage located literally a stroll from the heart of this historic and delightful town. The cottage, which is over 200 years old, was once the lodge to the Lower Moor Manor (sadly no more!) and as a result has a wealth of period features, including original flagstone and wooden flooring and wood burning stove, which certainly make this a thoroughly charming holiday cottage. Today the owners have cleverly mixed old and new along with a lovely garden and view which we found very inviting. Hay on Wye is a world renowned town, revered for its book festivals and book shops. The cottage is convenient for the town centre without actually being in the hib and therefore offers peace and tranquility while great access to Hay's attractions as well as great restaurants. Please note: Hay Festival is charged at Xmas rates

Hay on Wye is perhaps best known for the Hay Festival of Literature which occurs each year in the Spring Bank Holiday in late May. Although the festival is clearly famous, Hay is a thoroughly delightful town all year round. Located on the River Wye and straddles the English and Welsh border. A short drive in almost every direction will take you to some stunning scenery, a host of quaint and attractive villages and some simply superb walks. An excellent chouce indeed!!
