Burycroft Farm House is a real farmhouse on a real farm. Built in the middle of the 19th Century of Cotswold Stone, it is in one of the most attractive locations possible – at the brow of a hill overlooking the Windrush Valley – but within a mile or so of Witney town centre. The large south facing garden overlooks our fields running down to the River Windrush. Close your eyes in the evening and listen. What do you hear? Nothing – apart perhaps from the hooting of an owl or the lowing of cattle in the adjacent fields!! This is an old fashioned Cotswold farmhouse with large and spacious rooms along with five bedrooms and three bathrooms all presented in a traditional style. This is a unique holiday cottage as the owners vacate the property each summer to enable families and small groups enjoy this stunning location.*

Outside
There is 'off street' parking in the grounds. A large garden surrounds the property, however, please be aware that it is not completely secure and enclosed. There is a working farm to the side of the property but this does not include animals, mainly tractors! There are horses stabled in the grounds which will be accessed and livery will potentially occur during your stay.

*Important Information: This cottage is normally used as a home by the owners, who vacate it each summer. The property is therefore presented more as a 'home' rather than a manufactured holiday cottage'. The owner removes all private possessions in order to de-personalise it. Manor Cottages wishes to make it clear that this is a lovely and traditional house, but it is NOT a high specification holiday cottage which has undergone renovation and refurbishment as with many of our cottages. We really like it, but we wish to be clear of the property's 'feel'. Please ask for further details if necessary!

Oil fired C/H & Electricity included. Cot and High Chair included. One Pet Welcome (not upstairs please). No Smokers. Friday changeover please. Short Breaks welcome all summer.

We would like to bring to your attention a technical hitch regarding the pricing of a stay in this property via our 'Check Availability & Pricing' page. The price to stay in the cottage is not £27(!) but is highlighted in the boxes above. Short breaks welcome, but price to clarified with Manor Cottages.

Locally, Witney itself is a pretty, working town which until very recently was the home of Witney blankets, which sadly closed recently. Before it did, it was one of the oldest companies in the country, having been in the same family since 1666. The old factory site is visible across the valley where the chimney has been retained. We recommend a visit to the Cogges Manor Farm Museum.
Close to Witney are Burford (a mecca for tourists), Minster Lovell, which (apart from being Jack Straw’s country home) has a ruined manor house with one of the finest extant dove houses, Swinbrook (home of the Mitfords, in whose churchyard many of whom are buried), Blenheim Palace and, of course, the great city of Oxford is only 13 miles away.
There are many fine walks and most go past at least one excellent pub/restaurant in the area. We particularly recommend The Old Swan in Minster Lovell, The Swan in Swinbrook, The Boot at Barnard Gate on the A40 going towards Oxford, the Royal Oak in Ramsden and our local, The Lamb in Crawley.
