Mrs Muffins Teashop
Classic English tea room with lots of character, features include a flagstone floor, exposed beams, and the cobbled lane outside. In the courtyard there is an old potato plough, and an antique stone butcher's table with a blood trough. It's like a step back in time.

Lough Pool Inn, The
An excellent pub with real food that has not become so grand that it has lost sight of its original roots. Try the steak and kidney pie with Guinness, the black pudding fritters with beetroot chutney, chargrilled chicken with Moroccan spices and chickpea puree or breast of pigeon with a wonderfully rich port wine sauce. The auguries are good, supported by the award of the Herefordshire Newcomer of the Year accolade in 2002. The wine list is still under revision, quality beers are already on the scene and a cider list is also planned. Decent French or Chilean House wines at £11 is a promising start.
Address: Sellack, Ross-on-Wye, HR9 6LX
Cuisine(s): European, Modern European
Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: £24.00, Dinner: £36.00
Restaurant at The Stone Mill
The Stone Mill itself is the centre of the action at this lively small country house which caters for parties, residents or passers-by with equal skill. The place is a riot of exposed beams, and the Cider Mill is dated fifteenth century. The menu is constantly on the move but to give you an idea a typical menu could include confit of duck with herb gnocchi, half a dozen rock oysters with Tabasco and lemon, followed by wild sea bass with purple sprouting broccoli, or bollito misto which translates amazingly as duck, chicken, ham hock and sausage with vegetables and salsa.

Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: £18.00, Dinner: £42.00
The White Hart Village Inn
A venue with real character, its rich history has seen it at one time under the ownership of Henry VIII as part of Jane Seymour's wedding dowry; a century later serving as Oliver Cromwell's headquarters in Gwent while latterly featuring in the T.S. Eliot poem 'Usk'. Retaining a wealth of historic features, including its original 16th century fireplaces, it is somewhere that you can sit down to while away an evening with fine drink and during those cold winter months enjoy the warmth and crackling sounds of a real open fire.
Address: Llangybi, nr Usk, NP15 1NP
Cuisine(s): Gastropub, Pub, British
Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: £22.00, Dinner: £26.00
Lion Inn
Built in the late 16th century, the Lion Inn was originally a coaching inn, brew house and pig farm and after being meticulously repackaged much of its original features like the brewing cellar still remain and so do a number of outhouses. The emphasis lies on honouring long established traditions by serving quality food and real ales in an affable village atmosphere.
