A beautiful picturesque town, Stratford-upon-Avon is situated on the river Avon and has numerous amounts of black and white timber framed buildings.  It's also famous for being the birthplace of William Shakespeare. With its good selection of shops, restaurants and tearooms Stratford Upon Avon makes an enjoyable place to wander and take in the beautiful sights. City Sightseeing's hop-on, hop off buses makes it easy to get about and visit neighbouring villages such as Wilmcote and Shottery. Shakespeare's Birthplace

William Shakespeare's birthplace home gives a real insight to the man who became the worlds most famous playwriter. Exhibitions explain the early years of William, who grew up here as the son of a glove-maker but also lived here for the first 5 years of his marriage. Owned by members of the Shakespeare family until the 19th century it has seen famous visitors such as Charles Dickens, John Keats and Thomas Hardy,who have all left comments.


The Creaky Cauldron

Witchcraft and Wizardology Museum - The Creaky Cauldron. Located on the 1st and 2nd floor of the White Lion Inn, with over a 400-year history the former public house is one of the most haunted places in Britain. With various scary exhibitions and events this is not to be missed. Be aware though that this exhibition is in an old building and with its many stairs is not suitable for people with mobility issues.


Stratford Butterfly Farm

Watch hundreds of the world's most spectacular and colourful butterflies flying around in a wonderful tropical environment.
In the Caterpillar Room you can see their amazing lifecycles. There's Insect City, where Stick Insects, Beetles, Leaf-cutting ants and many more remarkable creatures are to be found. For the brave, get close to the dangerous and deadly in Arachnoland where you will find the worlds largest spider, a scorpion colony and other deadly species of spider. There is also a gift shop so that you can take away something of your experience.
