Biddestone

Biddestone is a small rural village; it is situated in North West Wiltshire and only has a population of a few hundred. Dating back from Norman times there is a small Norman church. There are also 2 local pubs; The White Horse and the Biddestone Arms. Charming stone-built, tiled 18th century cottages and houses with gated, walled gardens situated round a large village green and duck pond. This is most people’s idea of the English country village.

Priston

Situated a few miles from Bath, Priston is a pretty village with a fascinating history. The small village has a mix of architecture with stone cottages and houses and is surrounded by beautiful countryside that entices walkers and horse riders to the narrow lanes and paths.

Norton St Philip

Colerne

To its villagers Colerne is known as ‘the village on the hill’ and this sums up both its position and much of its history. Colerne borders Gloucestershire and Somerset and is a very picturesque village with a population of around 2000. Again this is an ideal location for walkers but also appeals to shoppers due to its close proximity to the City of Bath.

Freshford

Freshford is located 6 miles south-east of Bath. It has numerous historic buildings including churches and local pubs. The village has existed since Saxon times, and existed before the land at Fersceforde was given to Bath Abbey after the Norman Conquest. A mill existed here as early as 1086 and there are still remains of one built in the 1540s.This is an ideal location for the budding historian.

Ditteridge

The hamlet of Ditteridge comprises a cluster of pretty cottages and farm buildings surrounded by the most beautiful Wiltshire countryside yet less than 5 miles from the historic City of Bath.

Located 8 miles south of Bath, Timsbury has five churches and two pubs. It is an ever growing village and is only 4 miles from Bath. Steeped in history there are records dating right back to the Anglo-Saxon period.

Trowbridge

Trowbridge is a bustling business town. It has two shopping centres, Castle Place on the site of the former cattle market and The Shires in a modern complex that has been built around Salter’s Mill, which now houses the town’s excellent museum. The two centres offer a wide range of shops from the traditional to the specialised retailers. Nothing is very far away in Trowbridge and once visitors have parked in one of the many car parks, the busy town centre is only a leisurely walk away.

Trowbridge is known for the friendly welcome it offers to its visitors.
